We wanted to write you a note to share the story of Hand Hero, why we made it and how we hope it can help you and the world right now.
Hand Hero was originally created out of necessity by our in house manufacturing team based in Seattle WA. As many of you know Seattle was the first U.S. city hit hard by Covid-19 in early March and this resulted in an almost immediate shortage of hand sanitizer in the city. Our team could not continue to work without proper sanitization procedures so our in house formulators worked quickly to make a hand sanitizer to protect themselves and all of you by ensuring your items were manufactured and shipped according to The WHO sanitary guidelines. This is how Hand Hero was born.
Soon after formulating it we made the decision to make Hand Hero available to the public as quickly as we could since there is obviously a hand sanitizer shortage that reaches far beyond Seattle at this time. We also wanted to give back as much as possible since the effects of this pandemic are so large and widespread and we especially feel for marginalized communities and frontline medical workers during this time. So, we have pledged, in partnership with our glass manufacturing company UPG, to donate 75,000 hand sanitizers to those in need. We will be donating 50,000 sanitizers to the United Way in King County (Seattle) to support marginalized and at risk communities and an additional 25,000 sanitizers are going to New York City area hospitals to lessen the burden for essential supplies among medical workers.
We truly hope Hand Hero helps to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We are happy to be able to make this little hero available to all of you and hope it brings you some comfort and security during these trying times. Rest assured, Hand Hero is formulated with 75% Isopropyl alcohol in accordance with WHO guidelines for hand sanitizer and we also include skin-loving Aloe and Vegan Sodium Hyaluronate to keep your hands soft and hydrated.
With lots of love,
Alex and Julia
