The following ingredients provide product-preserving support and glow-boosting benefits. They are included in all Prism products to give them a shelf life of twelve months:
- Aspen Bark Extract: Also known as Populus Tremuloides Bark Extract, this bark prevents molding in natural cosmetics and skincare products by acting as an effective preservative and alternative to parabens, which may pose health threats. Not only does aspen bark extract keep our PRISM products fresh, it also offers benefits to the skin by boosting a more refined overall skin tone overall.
- Leucidal/Leuconostoc Radish Root: This ingredient is made from radishes fermented with a lactic acid bacteria called leuconostoc kimchii. The resulting leucidal liquid has been shown to provide antimicrobial benefits, preserving our Prism products and helping to clear the skin!
- Sodium Phytate: Found abundantly in plant tissues (especially bran and seeds) this all-natural chelating agent (a.k.a. preservative potentiator) acts as a stabilizer and prevents color changes in natural skincare products. This ingredient also works synergistically with antioxidants like lemon, orange, and bilberry in Prism formulas, enhancing their skin-softening properties.
- Orange + Lemon Citric Acid: Citric Acid is a natural preservative that’s included in our Prism formulas. This magical ingredient is sourced from citrus fruit, and helps the skin to stay strong against damage!
